THIS IS HALLOWEEN! THIS IS HALLOWEEN!
October is my absolute favorite month. I adore the autumn smells, sights and tastes. But above all, All Hallows Eve is on the last day of this wonderful month. For the month of October, I thought it would be neat to start a new Halloween themed project.
Inspired by one of my Tim Burton favorites, I decided to make a Nightmare Before Christmas themed blanket. The idea started out as a purse, I would make two Jack Skellington squares, stitch them together, add a strap and BOOM! A simple purse would have been complete, but my mind doesn't work that way....
This is the first pattern of the blanket. I'll add a PDF download if enough people would like one. Just leave a comment and let me know.
Back in February I created this pattern (note the obnoxious watermark) 40 pixels by 40 pixels but every time I started the pattern, I would get frustrated with how it would turn out.
First I attempted Tunisian crochet. 2 words: never again. I quickly discovered that style of crochet is just not for me (even with simple patterns)
A few weeks later, I tried just a simple single stitch crochet, but again, was not satisfied with the proportions.
I finally had a DUH moment and just did this to keep the pixels. For each pixel, I did 2 single stitches in two rows. So the pattern is 40 x 40, my crochet project is 80 x 80.

Now that the pattern is finished, I'll be blocking it and starting on Sally.
