Ear Warmers!

Happy December!

I've been working on some Christmas gifts and decided to share my creations.

So far, I only have my oldest niece's ear warmer finished. She actually requested an ear warmer with an actual bow on it, but I cant seem to get the size of the bow just right.

I've decided to make more, in lots more colors to start selling. If you're interested in one or two or 10 you can get them here. I'll explain all the details and I can get right to making it. I'm also building inventory for some craft fairs this spring. (those items will have a nerdy spin to them) I love making these though, I'm hoping to find a way to add a little Lindsey flare to them!

Jack Skellington

THIS IS HALLOWEEN! THIS IS HALLOWEEN!

October is my absolute favorite month. I adore the autumn smells, sights and tastes. But above all, All Hallows Eve is on the last day of this wonderful month. For the month of October, I thought it would be neat to start a new Halloween themed project.

Inspired by one of my Tim Burton favorites, I decided to make a Nightmare Before Christmas themed blanket. The idea started out as a purse, I would make two Jack Skellington squares, stitch them together, add a strap and BOOM! A simple purse would have been complete, but my mind doesn't work that way....

This is the first pattern of the blanket. I'll add a PDF download if enough people would like one. Just leave a comment and let me know.

Back in February I created this pattern (note the obnoxious watermark) 40 pixels by 40 pixels but every time I started the pattern, I would get frustrated with how it would turn out.

First I attempted Tunisian crochet. 2 words: never again. I quickly discovered that style of crochet is just not for me (even with simple patterns)
A few weeks later, I tried just a simple single stitch crochet, but again, was not satisfied with the proportions

I finally had a DUH moment and just did this to keep the pixels. For each pixel, I did 2 single stitches in two rows. So the pattern is 40 x 40, my crochet project is 80 x 80.

Now that the pattern is finished, I'll be blocking it and starting on Sally.

Welcome

Welcome to L A Banks Crochet!

I'm Lindsey!

I am a mother, a photographer and yes, a hooker!
I love to crochet.

My mother taught me how to crochet when I was 7 years old. I'm still crocheting to this day, only now I'm making new patterns and and pushing myself to make new things!

I'll be sharing my creations, patterns and geeky crochet themed posts. Almost everything I make is available to purchase. I do custom orders and can make custom 8 bit patterns. If you have a request or a suggestion as to what I should make, let me know!

All patterns and crochet made by me unless otherwise indicated.

I specialize in geeky 8 bit creations, hats scarves and baby items. More work on my Facebook page: Facebook.com/LABanksCrochet
